About Ezeebit

Ezeebit is crypto and stablecoin payment infrastructure for African merchants. Businesses use us to accept digital assets in-store and online, with the price hedged instantly at checkout and settlement in fiat currency next day or in stablecoins same day, so the merchant carries zero volatility risk.

Our platform covers pay-ins and payouts, instant conversion between crypto, stablecoins, and fiat, and multi-currency accounts. It is delivered through Android ePOS terminals, Ezeebit Pay (QR scan-to-pay), Checkout and e-commerce plugins, REST APIs, and a Merchant Portal, all running on a Java and Spring Boot microservices backend. Under the hood we move a variety of digital assets across multiple blockchains, with MPC custody, real-time hedging, automated settlement, and KYC, AML, and Travel Rule compliance built into the flow.

Ezeebit is an FSCA-registered financial services provider (FSP No. 53664). We serve businesses from iStore, Diesel, Le Creuset, and Amiri to iGaming operators like Sunbet, and are onboarding enterprise partners across South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria and more.

Ezeebit has raised $2.1 million in seed funding led by Founder Collective, whose co-founder David Frankel has appeared four times on the Forbes Midas List and backed 10+ billion-dollar startups including Uber, Whoop, Airtable, and The Trade Desk. The round also includes Raba Partnership, an early backer of Flutterwave, Stitch, Fuse, and BVNK; DCG, one of the world's leading crypto venture investors and owner of Luno; along with strategic angels Terry Angelos (ex-Visa), Anton Katz (Talos), Nadir Khamissa (Hello Group), David De Picciotto (ex-Revolut), and Chris Harmse (BVNK).

We've processed hundreds of millions of rands in payments, and we're building out our in-house engineering team to take the platform through its next stage of scale.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help shape and ship the next phase of Ezeebit's platform.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you will:

• Own critical services and projects end-to-end — from design through production operation
• Lead technical design for features and initiatives across payments, settlement, and merchant infrastructure
• Work primarily in Java + Spring across backend services and APIs
• Set and uphold engineering standards, and raise the quality bar across the team
• Mentor intermediate engineers and contribute to their growth
• Partner with product, operations, compliance, and the founding team on technical strategy
• Make architecture decisions that scale with the business
